Make your own Mandala every day!
Originating from Sanskrit, the word 'mandala' literally translates to "magic circle"—the very core of essence. In numerous cultures, circles represent unity and natural order, while their lack of beginning or end serves as a symbol of eternity. For my mandalas, I utilize handmade clay forms inspired by lace and the sea. Artifacts, amulets, or talismans may also be integrated into these works.

A temple for the earth to nurture, to protect, to keep her alive and fertile.
A place to respect and honor the earth.
A place for contemplation, reflection, meditation or just being quiet for a while.
A place for prayer, to light a candle, make a small offering or recharge your energy.
My temple for the ‘living earth’ symbolizes my own "living” earth, keeping it fruitful and cherishing it.
“Levende Aarde” ( “Living Earth”) During travels, holy places, temples and altars have always held great attraction and are therefore a source of inspiration. Over the years I have often created works based on what I have seen and/or experienced.
For the exhibition "Living Earth" it was immediately clear that I wanted to make a temple, a free interpretation born of an idea. Mythology, symbols and my own archive contributed further, the details were created by dreams and spontaneous thoughts. Only after making these additions, I searched for possible meanings.
