The influence of yeasts and fungi on the world intrigues the artists of terra-viva. The mysterious world of these fascinating organisms is approached in their own unique way, resulting in a diverse exhibition
Growth, impermanence, and repetition are integral parts of Lili Berger's work. For this exhibition, she creates growth processes from clay and porcelain, as well as assemblages. Through repetition, these works can—much like yeast and fungi—expand endlessly, while constantly evolving.
In addition to art, attention is also given to the effect of yeast on the inner self. During the three Sundays, a different favorite fermented product will take center stage.
Olivier Schneider will open the exhibition on Sunday, February 8, at 3:00 PM. He is a theater organizer, but in his spare time, he turns apples into a type of champagne cider, and he is ready to reveal a glimpse of the secrets behind this sparkling process.
Erwin de Groeten has brewed a special beer specifically for this exhibition. On Sunday, February 15, at 3:00 PM, he will initiate us into the mysterious brewing process. To demonstrate the great things yeast is capable of and to add to the festive spirit, products will be available for purchase and tasting. To fully enjoy the experience, it is recommended to bring your own (large) beer glass.
On Sunday, February 22, we will honor Bacchus with wine.
